Great menu range. Great quality, tasty food. Friendly service. Have been using this for the last couple of years since it opened and never been dissatisfied. The salt and pepper squid and the chicken wraps are personal favourites if I want something other than fish.

Best Fish and Chip Shop in Medway without a doubt. We live in walderslade and drive past a few other fish and chip shops to get to it. It’s always worth it. The batter is perfect, the fish is always fresh and chips wrapped well so always hot when you get them home. Very friendly staff.

I recently visited Britannia Fish Bar in Gillingham, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, the service was very nice, fast, and professional – exactly what you want from a local fish and chip shop. Let's talk about the food, starting with the essentials. The chips here are genuinely great; perfectly cooked, and everything you hope for in a proper portion of chips. The fish I had was also cooked beautifully, with lovely crispy batter encasing flaky, moist fish. But where Britannia Fish Bar truly excels, in my opinion, is with their sides. Compared to so many other places I've tried, their sides are simply out of this world! The battered mushrooms are a perfect example – these aren't those small, frozen, ready-made breaded things you often get. They are actually big, proper mushrooms cooked in a real, delicious batter. And then there are the wedges. I decided to buy a portion because they just looked really good, and I was absolutely blown away by both their size and their flavour. They weren't like typical dry wedges; they were more like amazingly well seasoned roast potatoes, generously showered with paprika and herbs. I've honestly never had wedges like them – these are definitely the king of wedges! For anyone looking for a fantastic fish and chip experience in Gillingham, I highly recommend Britannia Fish Bar. It's reassuring to know they also have a 5-star food hygiene rating (as of their inspection on 26 March 2024), which just adds to the confidence in their quality. I'll definitely be back!

Best local fish and chips by a country mile. Since its opening I'll no longer go anywhere else although there are a couple closer to home. Proper fish and chips, proper portion sizes. Great, friendly customer service by the guys tops it off. It's early days, let's hope they keep it up.

So 2nd day off opening read the reviews had to pope down today 19 April 12.05 the place very clean & tidy friendly staff very welcoming got home WOW 🤩 chips and cod was amazing ❤️last time I tasted chips like this was in 1990 so I bought 2 large cod’s and large chips £25.90

First time I'd been in today (after reading other reviews) with a fairly large order for a midday birthday lunch .... Service was impeccable!! Large cod was cooked while we waited and was cooked to perfection too, lovely flakey fish with golden crispy batter (and I'm a cod and chips fanatic!!) lemon slice with the cod too which is a great touch. Chips were also cooked perfectly and portions were just right. Curry spring rolls and cheese and chip wrap were also a hit with the family!!

Good food, great guys and always made to feel at home. Since they have opened I haven’t been anywhere else. Cod is cooked to perfection but the potato wedges have to be the hidden gem in this establishment…100% worth a try.
